Antique Bohemian Czech Ruby Red Glass Brooch Edwardian Era

A beautiful antique Bohemian brooch showcasing a striking oversized ruby red faceted art glass stone set within an ornate gilt brass frame. The richly colored stone is accented by delicate applied filigree, decorative ball finials, and an open-back setting that allows light to illuminate the glass from every angle.  The original C-clasp pin assembly, combined with the substantial faceted glass and decorative brass construction, places this piece in the Edwardian era, circa 1901–1910. Pieces of this style were produced in the renowned Bohemian glassmaking region of what is now the Czech Republic and exported throughout Europe and America during the early 20th century.
