Set of 6 Vintage Green Spiral Ball Stem Wine Goblets Hand Blown Clear Bowl 7.5in

A set of six wine goblets built around one very good idea: a plain, elegant clear tulip bowl interrupted mid-stem by a hand-worked ball of pale green glass, wound with a fine spiral thread that catches light like a tiny globe. The green is soft and slightly uneven from piece to piece - more chartreuse in some, cooler in others - which is exactly what you want from hand-worked stems. The bowls are thin and unetched, the feet are broad and clear, and the proportions are tall enough to feel formal without tipping into fussy. Spiral-threaded and applied-ball stems in green are a hallmark of central European glasshouses - Bohemian and German workshops in particular - which sold this style widely from the mid twentieth century onward, often unsigned. These carry no maker's mark on the foot or bowl, so nothing is claimed here beyond what the glass shows: hand-applied stem balls, visible thread wrapping, and small variations in bowl height across the six, all consistent with hand-finished rather than fully machine-made production. Condition: Gently used. No chips, cracks, or fleabites at the rims, stems, or feet on any of the six. Light shelf scratching to the undersides of the feet. Bowls are clear and bright throughout. - Maker: Unmarked - Form: Wine / water goblet - Quantity: Set of 6 - Size: approx. 7.25in tall - Marks: None found - Era: Mid to late 20th century The kind of glass that makes an ordinary bottle feel like an occasion.
