Vintage Italian Majolica Strawberry Pitcher 3D Fruit Relief Made in Italy

Beautiful vintage Italian Majolica pitche with hand-painted 3D strawberries. The body is finished with a white basketweave texture; the handle is shaped like a vine. It is approximately 8 inches tall and is accented by a soft, scalloped pink rim. This pitcher comes from the Bassano region of Northern Italy, world-renowned for its ceramic fruit pottery. Because each piece is traditionally painted by hand, the strawberry clusters on this pitcher are one-of-a-kind. It is in good vintage condition and has the original Made in Italy foil sticker on the base. There are no chips or cracks, but you will see some fine crazing in the glaze and light scuffing on the bottom, which is xommon for authentic Italian ceramics of this era. Please take a look at the photos to see the lovely detail and texture of this charming piece!
