Shigaraki Ware Furutani Pottery Koichi Furutani Rough Horizontal Carving Tonkotsu Bowl - Set of 2 for Hot Pot / Side Dishes

Shigaraki Ware, Furutani Pottery, Koichi Furutani, Fuchi Ara Yokobori
Set of 2

These are cute to-su (small dipping bowls) with a round shape and handle.

They are unused.
They are difficult to obtain at this time, so we highly recommend them.

The size is just right and they can be used for various purposes. The handle is large and has a slightly rough texture, making it easy to grip without slipping.

Use them as dipping bowls for hot pot! Also great as soup cups or for stews!
?
In summer, use them for salads, edamame, or cold tofu. In winter, use them as dipping bowls for hot pot.
They can also be used for tempura dipping sauce!
Their convenient size makes them useful all year round.

The colored part is made by applying rough clay and carving with a comb.
The slightly rough texture of the comb marks and the warm colors enhance the white of the kohiki glaze.
The colors vary, as is characteristic of earthenware.

Size: Diameter approx. 13cm, approx. 16cm including handle, Height 5cm (Handle height 5.5cm)

Material: Pottery

As these are handmade by the artist, there may be individual differences, such as slight wobbles, distortions, small holes, or unevenness. The maker's mark may also be difficult to see on some pieces.

There may also be small iron spots (black dots) in the clay, glaze drips or pooling, and pinholes.

No two pieces are exactly alike, and we hope you will appreciate each one's unique character and charm.

This is a set of 2! Not sold individually.
