The white porcelain base is decorated with cobalt blue underglaze and finished with a transparent glaze.
Fired at high temperatures, the clay becomes dense and highly transparent. The reduction firing process prevents iron impurities from causing a yellowish tint, resulting in a purer white finish.

Featured in Episode 8 of the drama Shosen Tanin Jinji Desu Kara (Photos 17-19).
