This is an original koma (bridge) for the kokyu (a three-stringed Japanese instrument) from Owara Kaze no Bon in Yatsuo, Toyama Prefecture, famous for the Echuu Owara Bushi folk song. (It can also be used for kokyu of other genres.)

Most commercially available koma are thick to maintain strength, but this is an extremely thin, high-resonance koma.
It also has a feature on the back to prevent cracking, significantly reducing the risk of the koma breaking during attachment and removal.

It has a polished finish and is sparkling clean! ⭐︎

Furthermore, while commercially available kokyu koma are made from a single piece of bamboo, this koma is made by separating the upper part from 400-year-old susudake (smoked bamboo) and the lower part from 500-year-old susudake, and then further incorporating genuine tortoiseshell for the cracks. It is a very labor-intensive piece. Please check images 4 and 5 for its luxurious appearance when attached.
