Kodak Bantam RF Camera 1950s

Kodak

Description
Kodak Bantam RF, a vintage rangefinder camera manufactured by the Eastman Kodak Company between 1953 and 1957. Designed by Arthur H. Crapsey, this model stands out as the only camera in Kodak's Bantam line to feature a coupled rangefinder. Body Material: Formed from a durable molded brown phenolic resin (Bakelite) wrapped in a textured brown Kodadur synthetic covering. Lens: Equipped with a 50mm f/3.9 Kodak Ektanon lens. (Note: In vintage camera communities, this 3-element lens is famously known to contain thorium oxide, making it very mildly radioactive.) Shutter: Features a non-self-cocking Flash 300 Shutter with speeds up to 1/300 of a second. [1, 2, 3] Film Format: Uses 828 roll film rather than standard 35mm. It records 8 exposures per roll with a negative size of 28×40mm. Because it built in an automatic mechanical film-advancement stop, users did not have to manually align frames using a red window on the back.
