Eiraku Zengoro Annan Chawan, with original box, made by Soshoku, Kintsugi, Kyoto ware, tea ceremony tool
231.00 $
Description
This is an Annan-style tea bowl from the Eiraku ZenGoro lineage.
The inscription on the box reads Made by my grandfather, Hozensai, indicating it is a work from the Eiraku family (Kyoto ware) tradition.
The soft blue underglaze and crackles (fine crack patterns in the glaze), characteristic of Annan ware, are beautiful, and this bowl wonderfully expresses the feel of old pottery.
The interior features a 寿 (kotobuki - longevity) design, giving it a charming auspicious quality as a tea bowl.
Kintsugi (gold repair) has been applied to the rim, showing it was cherished and used with care. It has a deep, rich character.
The cord on the box is damaged.
This piece can be enjoyed not only as a tea ceremony utensil but also as an object of appreciation.
Height: 8.5 cm, Diameter: 11.5 cm. Comes with a tomobako (original paulownia wood box).
[Condition] There are scuffs, crackles, and small scratches due to age, and kintsugi on the rim. Please check the photos for the condition.
As this is an antique item, please only purchase if you understand and accept this.
