Rare Wedgwood Edme TRIAL Color Design Plate c1962 Rubin Collection 10"

Rare Wedgwood Edme factory trial color design plate dating to approximately 1962 and formerly part of the Rubin Collection.  This unusual experimental piece uses Wedgwood's classic ribbed Edme form with a central floral design printed in sepia and hand-colored in shades of blue, mauve, green and golden brown.  Most importantly, the reverse is explicitly marked TRIAL and retains detailed handwritten production/color notes specifying the colors used: PRINTED IN ORD SEPIA / COLOURED IN 119 E MAUVE / 100 GREEN / GOLDEN BROWN / 8886 BLUE.  The reverse also bears the Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston Made in England backstamp, impressed marks, Rubin Collection provenance sticker, and an inventory/date label indicating c.1962.  Measures approximately 10 in diameter.  Good vintage condition with light age-related wear. Please review all photographs closely for condition, markings and provenance.  An unusual documented Wedgwood factory trial/sample rather than a standard production Edme plate, making it an excellent piece for a serious Wedgwood or British ceramics collection.
