Immigrant artisans trained at the original Irish Belleek pottery factory brought their technical knowledge over to the United States. Walter Scott Lenox played a monumental role in advancing the craft through his Ceramic Art Company (which later evolved into Lenox). - A lampshade can be fitted on top by unscrewing the brass finial. - Very good condition for age with no cracks or chips. The hand painted artwork is well preserved with minimal signs of wear, however there is rubbing to the gilt detailing in places. It remains a superb rare piece perfect for lovers of fine porcelain.
